Surface : 11,39 ares
Colour : white
Grape variety : Chardonnay
Location : Saint-Aubin. Steep hill above Gamay.
Vineyard : 40-year-old vines. Clay and limestone, south-east exposure. Pneumatic pressing, aged on lees in oak barrels. 35% new barrels. Bottled after 9 to 12 months.
The estate's "micro-vintage" (800 bottles/year). It is still a model of airy wine. Burgundy wine purists will find in it the freshness and purity of the great Chardonnays.
The higher proportion of new wood is due to the fact that only 2.5 pièces (translator's note: traditional Burgundian barrel containing 228 litres, commonly used as a unit of measure) are harvested.
