Surface : 98 ares 69
Colour : red
Grape variety : Pinot Noir
Location : Saint-Aubin. Hill between Saint-Aubin and Gamay.
Vineyard : Several plots of 30 to 60 years. Clay and limestone, east-south-east exposure.
Vatted for 10 days, aged in oak barrels. Very few new barrels. Bottled after 8 to 10 months. Like Les Perrières (white), Les Frionnes is one of the estate's "historic" vintages, bottled from the early 80s. A rich and full-bodied wine, very complex.
Early bottling allows the wine to keep its freshness and fruitiness. Serve with a richer dish (meat in sauce).
